Installing a borehole
There are 3 main stages involved when installing a borehole
1. Obtaining Permits & Quotes
It is up to the landowner or the lease holder to organise the appropriate permits needed before getting started. If required Borehole Drilling Thohoyandou can assist in this process. Water drillers in all states and Territories are required to be licensed. The use of an unlicensed driller and drilling without the appropriate bore permit can lead to irreparable damage to aquifers and the environment. Once an aquifer is polluted, the damage is usually permanent! Borehole Drilling Thohoyandou uses only licensed Water drillers.
Borehole Drilling Thohoyandou will provide you with a written quote, including the various rates for drilling, casing, screens, development, etc.
2. Location of a Suitable Site
It is the responsibility of the landowner or the lease holder to site the bore and to ensure suitable access to it. Borehole Drilling Thohoyandou can offer advice as well as offering a free site assessment. It is also important to be aware and to advise the driller of the nearest source of water as water is often used as part of the drilling process.
Borehole Drilling Thohoyandou has access to a wealth of information on bores already drilled in your area which may help in the assessment of your site.
3. Drilling, Development & Pumping Tests
Upon completion of drilling, construction, development or pumping test of a bore, Borehole Drilling Thohoyandou will provide the owner with a signed detailed report commonly referred to as the “Bore Log”.
This information is passed onto the relevant government authorities within a specified period upon completion of the bore.
