Borehole Drilling Services
One of the questions we get asked a lot, after we’ve explained a little about what borehole drilling, is how we do it. Borehole drilling can take up to three weeks from start to finish, though most of the work takes place over 4 weeks.
What Is the Borehole Drilling Process
Our borehole drilling team will carry out a desktop study on your location using geology reports and local borehole. This gives us a good idea about how viable your borehole is, the depth we’ll need to drill to.
If the results of the desktop study are good, we’ll pay your site a visit to get an even better idea of what we’re working with. After that, we’ll be able to give you an official estimate based on your location and specific needs.
Once you’ve chosen to go ahead with your borehole, give us a call to arrange a time to install it. We’ll make sure it’s a suitable time for you and that we know everything we need before we start.
when the day comes, we’ll arrive at your location with our drilling rig. We use rotary drilling rigs as well as drills that use compressed air or drilling fluids, depending on the material.
Our trained, licenced drillers will then drill to the planned depth and install a casing that supports the well. We’ll then add gravel and bentonite to prevent any surface water from seeping into your well.
Once this is done, the team will cover the hole with a manhole cover that lies flush with the ground. This process usually takes us around 4-5 days.
Our borehole drilling and install team and an engineer will arrive to put a pump and control panel into the borehole. We’ll leave it for a week or two until the borehole is producing consistently clear water, and then take some to test so that you’ll know if your water is free from minerals, metals and other contaminants.
Once we’ve for the results back, our engineer will come back to finish everything off. You’ll have a holding tank that ensures you have a consistent supply of water that is filtered and sterilised, ready for your use.
If the tests came back positive for contaminants, we’ll be able to install a treatment system that will purify it.

We have been providing complete turnkey borehole drilling and water well drilling packages for many years. We offer peace of mind as our highly trained staff fully manage your project, from analysing your water quality requirements to drilling your borehole, through to switching on a clean and usable water supply.
We have a proven track record of delivering a high-quality service on time and to budget.
What we offer you
Following a no-obligation discussion, we will conduct a free, research-based survey. Using hydro-geological maps and historical borehole drilling archives for your local area, we investigate your site’s geology and water supply.
We drill boreholes and water wells for agricultural, industrial and domestic purposes. Our client list is wide and includes:
- dairy, meat and poultry farms
- leisure centres, golf courses and garden centres
- retirement homes
- food production industries
- laundry services
- precision engineering
- textiles and steel works
If you currently use a large volume of water and face costly meter charges from your mains supplier, water boreholes can save you a lot of money. It also offers an excellent alternative if you have poor water quality or an unreliable supply.
Sustainable in drought conditions and offering a reliable pressure, water boreholes can deliver safe, clean water direct to your property. Ideal for farms, caravan parks, leisure facilities and rural homes, water boreholes enable you to become independent of mains water.
Water boreholes enable you to source natural water with no added chemicals. You do not require a licence if you are extracting up to 20,000 litres of water per day.
we specialise in borehole drilling, installation and maintenance of water boreholes. Using compact, rubber-tracked and manoeuvrable drilling rigs, we can help you establish a self-sufficient water supply with minimal disruption to you or your property.
When investing in water boreholes for your property, whether commercial or domestic, we will help you assess the feasibility of an installation and identify the potential cost savings based on your current metered charges.
By using state of the art equipment to test the re-charge capabilities of a borehole, we can identify how much water is available at an exact site and provide a precise yield of water over a 24-hour period.
For many high-water users, the borehole installation costs can be fully recovered within one year.
We provide a complete water borehole drilling and installation package, which includes a storage tank, variable speed distribution pumps, pressure vessel, control system and, if required, water treatment.
Unlike many of our competitors, once we have drilled the water borehole, we install a well casing and gravel, which act as a pre-filter and extend the life of the pump. We then seal the borehole from any possible surface contamination using bentonite and a custom-fabricated well head.
Our complete borehole drilling service includes:
- Site assessment
- Geological review
- Consultation with regulators
- Drilling works
- Borehole pump, water tank and pipework installation
- Water quality testing
- Water treatment, filtration and sterilisation
We use materials of the highest standard. Our pumping and water treatment equipment typically comes with a two-year guarantee and we provide a competitive annual service package to ensure all installations operate safely and efficiently.
